As of 2026, all five Eastern Caribbean programs operate under a single regulator, ECCIRA: a new citizen's passport is now valid for 5 years (down from 10), and a requirement of 30 days of physical presence within the first 5 years of citizenship is being introduced - originally planned for 2026, it has been postponed to at least mid-2026 pending agreement on unified rules

Do I need to live in Grenada or pass a language exam?

Who can be included in one application?

A spouse, children - both one's own and a spouse's, parents and grandparents, and, when the program's conditions are met, unmarried siblings. Reduced fees apply for children under 17: they are exempt from the Due Diligence check.

Is it true that a Grenada passport opens the E-2 visa to the US?

Yes. Grenada is the only Caribbean country with a treaty of commerce and navigation in force with the United States. This grants the right to apply for the E-2 investor visa and live in the US with your family for as long as the business operates. The visa decision is made by the US consulate.

Can citizens of Uzbekistan obtain Grenada citizenship?

Yes. Grenada's citizenship by investment program is open to citizens of all countries, and citizens of Uzbekistan take part on the same general terms - there are no separate restrictions by country of origin in the program. An applicant from Uzbekistan goes through the same government Due Diligence check as everyone else and receives citizenship together with their family. Processing is fully remote; there is no need to travel to the island.

Can citizens of Kazakhstan become citizens of Grenada?

Yes. Grenada citizenship by investment is available to citizens of Kazakhstan on the same terms as applicants from any other country. The requirements are the same for everyone: lawful origin of funds, a clean record, and passing the government background check. The program requires neither residence in Grenada nor a language exam.

What taxes will I have to pay?

Grenada applies a territorial tax principle: income earned outside the country is not subject to local tax. There is no tax on worldwide income, capital gains, or inheritance. Grenada citizenship on its own does not change your tax residency - that is determined by the country where you actually live.
