A beautiful country stretching across the South Pacific, west of Fiji and four hours by plane from the east coast of Australia. Vanuatu is a state in the South Pacific Ocean, consisting of about 80 islands with a length of 1,300 kilometres.
Port Vila harbour, the country’s capital and economic centre, is located on the island of Efate. The city is home to the Vanuatu National Museum, which introduces the country’s Melanesian culture. The islands offer scuba diving at coral reefs, underwater caves and shipwrecks.
Vanuatu is a member of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States, the Pacific Community, the Pacific Islands Forum, the United Nations and the World Trade Organization.
