Applying for citizenship

An investor can apply for citizenship immediately after receiving a residence permit. No physical presence or interview is required at the time of application.

At the time of applying for citizenship, applicants must have a valid residence permit. However, they can continue to live abroad as long as they wish.

The residence permit will be issued on the day of application.

Obtaining passport at the embassy

1 week

After the approval of the application, the investor receives a passport. It is unnecessary to come to Turkey to get a passport: the document can be obtained at a Turkish embassy or a consulate in another country. If the investor wants to get an ID card, it is necessary to submit fingerprints. Fingerprinting is usually organised at a Turkish embassy, or the investor can come to the country. The ID card will be ready in 2-3 weeks after fingerprinting.
